Aadhaar can be used to authenticate identity and to make the most of social service schemes in the country. After the update, you can download the updated version and get an Aadhaar card printout.

The steps mentioned above are for those who have document proof in order to update their address. However, if you do not have a document proof and want to update the address, you can do so with ease. Even if you do not hold a valid address proof, you can update the current address as below:
  • On the UIDAI website, click on update your address online.
  • Next, click on the Request for Aadhaar Validation Letter tab.
  • Here you will have to enter the Aadhaar number and then click on Send OTP or Enter the TOTP.
  • Now provide the address verifier’s Aadhaar number and then click Submit.
  • The request will be submitted and a message will be sent on the registered mobile number of the verifier.
Approval:

The second stage is the stage of approval. Here the verifier will get an SMS on his registered mobile number with UIDAI that contains the OTP and a link to verify the request of the applicant.
He will have to click on the link provided in the SMS and then login to his account. Enter the OTP received in the given space and confirm the request made by the applicant.

Final Submission:

After the verifier approves the request, you will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number with the SRN and a link for submission of the application.
You will have to enter the SRN and the OTP you received through the SMS.
Check the details here and click on Submit update request in order to complete the process of application.
After approval, the verifier’s address will be updated in the Aadhaar card of the applicant.

How to change address in Aadhaar card offline?

It is possible for Aadhaar card holders to get the details on their card updated offline. This can be done by visiting the enrolment centre. Follow the steps mentioned below for the same.
  • Get an Aadhaar collection form and fill details in it.
  • Enter only the correct information and not what is already mentioned in your current Aadhaar card.
  • In order to validate the update request, get self-attested copies of the proof.
